What is Wrong With Malaysia

The search for the missing airliner has been botched from the beginning.
Initially Malaysia sent search planes to the northeast, then they sent them to the southwest.
Their handling of the relatives of the missing people has been horrendous. Malaysia has, day after day, given out information that contradicted the information they gave out the day before.
Today the Malaysia PM announced that the plane had crashed into the sea. But there was no more information available today, than there was 5 days ago. A premature announcement at best.
Then, we have the young Malyasian co pilot who was known to invite pretty blonde passengers into the cockpit for an entire flight, while he flirted with them and smoked cigarettes.
This behavior would end an American or German pilot's career right then and there, but apparently, in Malaysia anything goes. Malaysia is also known to have lax airport security.
The day after the airliner disappeared, the PM invited a witch doctor to the International Airport to perform a ceremony to find where the airplane was.
Some of the Asian countries are very well organized. Japan is. I bet the Japanese could run a search for a missing airplane as well as anyone could. I bet South Korea could do a good job, and probably China as well.
I bet you that these rational, well-organized Asian countries view Malaysia as a bunch of nitwits.

There is a big difference between Asian and Pacific Islander,
Pretty much the case. The Southeast Asians really have nothing in common with the Chinese, Koreans or Japanese at all. US military advisors and Special Forces who many years ago worked with the ROK forces and later with the ARVN found the differences between the two groups dramatic!
And Thailand borders Malaysia. So how do you differentiate between Pacific Islander and Asian?
Vietnamese and Cambodian people are Asian, right? And they border Thailand, which is Asian, right?

Close, my wife's family is Filipino so I received a very quick lesson on that. What most call Asian are the Chinese, Japanese and Korean. Those 3 groups have a very distinct culture and are very similar. The South East Asian's such as Malaysia, Indonesia, The Philippines and others also are very similar in culture, but they are nothing like those to the North. Basically it is like saying that a kid who grew up in SoCal is different then a kid who grew up in Colombia, they are both from the Americas, but they are drastically different.
Towards the beginning of this whole thing, I heard a news report that the head pilot's wife/family had moved out of the house the day before the flight. I have not heard any thing again about his family. Anyone know?
I thought the same as You here.Incredibly it seems it is not acceptable in their culture to press the deceased relatives for information. The group of people who could most likely tell them the most, they have had to leave while they are grieving...unbelievable!!!!
