from that little wing up front was just more than that ultra light
frame could handle. Or maybe not.[;)]

Somebody broke it.
glad he was OK , had to be a underwear change moment
Looked like the UP force from the wheel torque, and the DOWN force
from that little wing up front was just more than that ultra light
frame could handle. Or maybe not.[;)]
Pretty much what happened.
The frame couldn't take the bending loads exerted between the two forces.
Maybe the chutes deployed automatically upon failure?

+1 Pretty amazing the construction these days. The cockpit and safety gear protected the driver and he walked away.
That was a real "E" Ticket Ride.
It overdosed on lots of horsepower, torque and RPM.
I would say synthetic oil.
Actually, regular oil was added to the synthetic oil..................

Either way - it was a GM, right?
Idiot newscaster, "In his rocket fuel powered car."
That was Dixon's Second crash like that.
The front and rear wings are designed to exert down pressure to keep the race car firmly planted on the ground during acceleration. The cars are also designed to flex in the middle due to the extreme horsepower (10,000 hp) being applied. Unfortunately in this case, the horsepower overcame the downforce and snapped the frame.
This explains it perfectly!
I was suppose to be there yesterday, a toothache made me cancel my trip, bummer.
I would say synthetic oil.

That's Larry Dixon from Ennis,Montana. [^][^][^]
Larry is from southern California presently living in Indianapolis, Ind., not from Montana. I believe you might be thinking of David Grubnic who is from Australia and now hails from Ennis.
