This gun has a bunch of surface rust. I was like do you keep it a boat or something. He told me he keeps it in his truck.

His window leaks.[:(]

I had my brother-in-law offer to give my XD a "thorough cleaning" once. So I let him. When he brought it back, he said that was the cleanest gun I ever tried to clean.

Anyone that let their firearm get wet and rusty like that would NEVER get their hands on one of mine!

Firearms get wet all the time...the sin is letting them rust after they get wet. Some folks look at gun cleaning as a chore...for me it is a pleasant pass time.

Dave for a little surface rust try:

    Big 45 Frontier metal cleaner
    http://www.big45.com/

    and Kroil

    It really works well.

Balistol and a big 45 MC will really clean up a Black powder weapon that has been abused.
