One of my friends has a collection of odd firearms. He likes things like drillings and Ferlach shotguns. Its the little details that are just so fascinating....like the little site that pops up when you flip a switch, the engravings....things that are so rare in anything made today.

Yes, there is a lot of real old world craftsmanship in a gun like that, little things that make it beautiful. I've been around a few of them, some where kind of big and heavy, this one has a great feel and balance.

Larry took his computer over to my brother's house. He has a WAY faster connection than I do and Larry had some updates to do on his machine. They play on line games together....right now its some tank game, but there are others. They TRY to tell me about whatever it is they do....but I only hear some of what they say before my brain shuts it out and I'm singing old Rick James tunes in my head.

I am normally up this late, but not typically on line. Larry just pulled into the drive. I guess I can quit waiting up on him now. See you guys tomorrow!

Kasey,two things I wanted to tell you. On your marlin lever action guns, I would state weather they are JM stamped or Rem stamped. It does matter to collectors and just regular gun guys. The fit and finish of the Rem is not really good and the JM stamped guns are bringing more money. Just a suggestion and I also wanted to ask you, did you ever get a gun to sell that you just had to have, and buy it for yourself? Oakie.

Over the years I have had the "need it myself" just beaten out of me. I once made payments on a set of three Smith 66's that had Ivory grips. When I finally got them paid off my daughter wrecked her car and I had to sell one of them to get it fixed. It wasn't long after that when other mess happened and I had to sell the other two. That was the last thing I really REALLY wanted to keep and went way out of my way to try to have. Larry wanted a Garand....so I pulled some strings and got him a Winchester. Every once in a while he finds something in the piles of things I get that he calls dibs on....but nothing special or high dollar. He tucked a single action 22 cowboy revolver in the safe a couple weeks ago.

I'd love to keep some of these things. I deal with some pretty special items with everyone I deal with. I actually do the pictures and get the computer work done for another seller.....here is one of those listings.

Those items are only here for a short period of time so I don't get to think about those things much....which is probably a good thing.
