Remember this song well and it rings true. Also remember going to the company store when I was small with my dad and mom on saturday mornings to buy groceries that would be delivered later in the day on the company flatbed truck. This was common practice at that time as the coal company employeed around 600 people and not everyone had a car. Dad was a miner in southern WV. My first gun was bought at the company store, an Ithaca 66 single shot 410 and later a Winchester 290 and a Winchester 37a, I still have them. The old store finally closed in the mid 70's. Dad had to retire several years before due to health related issues from the mining industry.
