I just listed one of the nicest looking M1s that I have had in a very long time:

This is a WWII era M1 which went through a full rebuild and appears to have never been issued again. The interior of the receiver is spotless and I doubt this rifle has been fired since rebuild and arrival at the CMP. I can't find nearly enough M1s like this one so if you are looking for something special you might want to take a look because it lacks for nothing and would be nearly impossible to upgrade.

The wood on this rifle has some pretty decent figure and nice grain and the barrel is new or close to it. If you missed out on the WWII era M1 that I listed two weeks ago this rifle is worth taking a look at.

The first one up is a good looking mid WWII Springfield with a receiver dating to July, 1943. This rifle has not been refinished so it will show expected wear. It has a fantastic barrel with the gages reading new. The wood is a nice birch set and it has no stampings. A lot of buyers don't like stampings on their stocks so this rifle would be a good choice for those who like straight wood.
There will be other WWII rebuilds coming down the pike which might look a little better than this rifle and have nicer wood, but none of them will have a better barrel. This is a good one.
maybe if I sold off 8 or 10 bricks of 22's I would be close

$1500.01 was that what you was excepting it to bring [?]
I was expecting it to bring $1,476 [V]

It falls into line with the hammer prices of the last three WWII Springfield's in similar condition. I have another like it that I will be listing (hopefully) next week.
