My Freshly Sodded Front Yard - Funny (?)

OK, I had my front yard re-sodded about a month ago (St. Augustine grass). I've been watering diligently, and watching it as it began to solidly take root. I was advised not to cut it the first time until next week, so it's getting pretty long but looking great.
Yesterday morning I noticed a county utility truck across the street, with a gentleman doing something to the neighbor's water meter. Upon seeing that, I immediately realized that in all my watering I hadn't noticed my own water meter (under a 8"x12" plastic-metal cover). Sure enough, my landscaper sodded right over it! I don't know what's worse, them covering the meter or me not noticing it for a month [:0]

All of Palm Beach has a line in the street or on top of the curb.Takes them 2 sec. and then EVEN THEY can find it..
Anyway, I neatly opened it back up. I'm just glad I noticed it before the utility co. did; I'm certain they would have been less careful than I was...I've seen their work and it isn't nice.
