The imagery is old and out of focus.

Does big brother allow any better?

I don't want to spy, except on my cattle.
this would save big bucks on fuel.

Anyone know?

Down loaded google earth 4.3 on my computer and it so slow as to be unusable. I deleted it. Yes I have DSL. How can I get the older version of google earth?

What was the website mentioned here a few weeks back that shows pictures of buildings and streets similar to google earth? My computer crashed and I lost my saved sites. It was V-something. Thanks guys.

Anyone use this much? I was looking last week and noticed they had updated some of their photos. There are now some as recent as July 1, 2010 and they are much clearer and sharper.

What type of technology is used to obtain "street views" of houses for instance? All done with satellites?

Anyone tried this program. It's a "3D" satellite download that lets you scan the surface of the Earth down to single streets. You can look up your address or any address for that matter. Very, very cool.

    Free download.

    I thought
google earth was free but when I went to it recently, you must sign up for 1 - 3 years. They say download for free but like the free credit card report, they want you to pay for it. Does anyone know of a site that is truly free? Thanks, Tom

For street views they actually have a car wit a camera mounted on top that drives down each street and takes pictures.

Actually that is exactly how libs think. There was an article about driverless cars and the story line was that families would only need one car since after it dropped Dad off at work it could go back home and take the kids to school then return to take mom shopping. They don't stop to count up all the extra miles being driven. The comments on it from the non mouth breathers were hilarious. I have to see if I can find the article again.

Please don't tell anyone I stated this, but, If I ever see a driverless vehicle I'll definitely have to "jack" with it.

We have driverless forklifts where I work. They do a pretty good job of picking up pallets of finished products, stacking them in the warehouse and even loading them in semi-truck trailers.

Rows in the warehouse are near perfect.

LGV's, laser guided vehicles is what ours are called.

We "jack" with them a bit when we can get away with it. Put things in their way or stand real close to one. We have found they do have a "blind spot" you have to stay out of.

Biggest problem is when one stops communicating with the base they all immediately stop.

Can you imagine what would happen if the "driverless cars" all just stopped at the same time?

I've seen them several times in the area.
Sometimes the street views are not up to date with the satellite views, so when I am looking for something I check both if available.
