Depends on the state. Usually 12 to hunt by yourself. Other states, obviously, have mentor programs that allow children much younger to hunt. I think 7 is the youngest I am aware of.
Some will die in hot pursuit
    And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
    While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
    Coming down the mountain

i dont know about hunting in particular, but the minimum license/card/whatever you need in massachusetts to be in possession of a firearm is 15. im not aware of the limitations involved there. you might still need a parent present etc.

My land, my rules. Youths with proper adult supervision welcome regardless of age. Adult idiots that cannot be sober or safe stay off.

    Same here,we don't even need a license
on our own land as long as we follow the F&G laws.

12 can be left alone but adult has to be close, 16 on their own.

Arkansas didn't have a minimum age, they were talking about creating one a couple of years back, lots of people had issues with pictures of 4 and 5 year old kids and the deer 'they' killed during the youth hunt in the newspapers. The youth hunts having no sex or antler restrictions.

Not something I followed closely since my youngest was older than the age they were considering implementing.

Do know if they have not passed the hunters ed class they have to be within arms reach of the suppervising adult amd within sight of the supervising adult if they have passed the hunters ed class during the youth deer hunts.

Utah big game is 12. Small/upland game is younger but not sure of the age.

No age restriction in Iowa I'm aware of. Can't hunt alone until they have hunters safety course, which they can't take until 12 years of age.

My daughter's been shooting since 5 or so, hunting with her own gun since 6.

Let her Arkansas some ducks, and shoot sitting rabbits and what not.

She's no longer aloud to Arkansas waterfowl, but she is a fairly good wingshot now at the ripe old age of 13.

Many of those hunts are early season. I wonder how many of those hunts dad shoots a monster buck and says "Nice shooting son, you just got a buck of a lifetime!"

If I had shot a "big" buck right off, probably would've ruined me.
