NAZI MEDALS

I recently acquired some medals & pins and am curious of value. I have included a bunch of photos. Some are good, while others need better lighting. I don't want values for each item, just curious of what you all may notice as higher valued items. I think some of the pins may be 30 - 50 dollars each (or more, while the iron crosses may have much higher values.

Iron cross is always good to have, stick pins dont get the attention that other things get but the sniper,SS,submarine, and pilot are a couple that are in demand.

    That's quite a display!!!

I have the Blue Max; or at least that's what we called the "Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry, Air"! [:I][:D]

If you can't feel the music; it's only pink noise!

Nice collection, I can tell you though that many iron crosses were awarded and that there are varying degrees of them.

Yes there are a ton of Iron Cross medals however your missing the more valuable ones Like Iron Cross with Oak Leaves Iron Cross with Swords and Iron Cross with Diamonds. which is the rarest of them all and the highest honor at the time you could receive at the time. On another note Im not 100% sure but I only recall one Medal with a Tank on it and it doesnt look ANYTHING like yours. I could take a picture and post if you want to see.

Oh and the Rarest one you have in that collection is by far the Infantry assault badge as ive never seen one in that pristine of a condition let alone someone actually having one. For a particular reason why this badge is rare is what a german soldier had to do in order to get one of those. feel free to email me Mooned if you would like to know more about what you have there and what they might be worth.

What is wrong with trophies of a defeated enemy?

It doesn't mean you agree with the ideology of the people that made the medals.

I am not certain, but I think one of your Iron Crosses is actually a "Knight's Cross". Who labeled them?

Good Eye your right the two with the kings type crown on them. Unfortunately the onle one of any real value I see is the Infantry assault badge which is by far the hardest to acquire as a german soldier.

I think the infantry assault badge is rare because it was given to some one who had made three or more infantry assaults, counter attacks, armed recons.or hand to hand fights and lived![:0].I also think thers a silver and bronze. No idea of value but thanks for showin us!

Your partially correct it was most commonly given to a soldier who destroyed an enemy tank with a panzerfaust or grenade. and is definitely rare there is also a panzerknacker badge which is equally rare which is given for doing that multiple times.

Regarding the comment from the person who mentioned this not being a good display....I can only say this: I am a ninth generation American of German & English decent. My family can trace it's roots to the area of South Carolina since before the Revolutionary War. In fact, my ancestory was given five-hundred acres in South Carolina for their personal efforts of bravery during that said war. These are historical & investment items, just like the WWII arsenal I have. I may not agree with the subject matter of Germany during WWII, but it did happen.

Until 1890, there were more people in North America of teutonic descent than any other ethnic group.

    interesting collection, MOONED.

how long have you been doing this?

Did you get some of them from WWII vets that brought them back?

Thank you for sharing it with us.

Its not about the war. Its about what they did to their own people. They were monsters and should not be glorified. P.S. My people where on the wrong side. They probly won some of those medals.

    Footlong,
My family arrived in Charleston in 1752 on the ship "John & Mary". The family name in Germany was Lourman, which became Lowman some time later in America.

    PBJLoaf,
I have not been collecting this type of item for very long, and have primarily gotten most items from a single person.

Aaron......great collection! However, I don't see a Knights Cross among them (contrary to another post, there was no such thing as an "Iron Cross with OLeaves" "Diamonds" etc) as you can immediately tell the difference between one of those and a regular Iron Cross which were rather common. A KC in good shape, with provenance, could bring $8-20k! They were not quite as rare as our MO as the Germans awarded 7700 or so of them. I do see a submarine badge of which I am very familiar with and those could bring somewhere in the $200-400 range if not fake. And that is the problem with these awards....lots of them were made in "secret shops" after the war. But great collection...congrats!

Oh my bad its a Knights cross with oak leaves and knights cross with swords and Knights cross with Diamonds.

It better that we are collecting THEIR metals, than they are collecting our metals.
South Carolina, I am still looking for my family's silverware, and FEMA money for burning our Plantation. I am not certain who I can contact to get our slaves back. I wrote Obama, but I have yet to get an adjuster down here to put a price on my loss. Now my family had A.K.C. breed Africans. Now, they will just price me out with a mess of crack-heads. See what happens when you don't win the war.[:(]

There's something about eboy that I've tried for some time to express in a single word. It just ocurred to me: putrid.

    Clouder..

Iron Cross first class is always worth more then the Second class award. I collect WWI so don't now WWII values. I have a box of WWII items my granddad brought back. A lugar and Iron Cross 2nd class my Dad gave me and some WWII German Heer Helmets but that's about it. Oh ya a SA dagger too.

People who do not collect are the first to assume someone who owns the stuff is a Nazi. Neo Nazi's mostly have fake stuff.
