I know a few of you were in the service and was wondering if any of you have pictures you would like to share of your planes. I love war planes and enjoy reading about them. I know Rocky was a pilot. If you want, could you please share your stories of the plane and pics. Oakie.

Here's the type plane I flew, the Cessna O-2A

    o2inflight.jpg

And here's a badly degraded slide of me taking off on a rare night mission over Cambodia. Note all four pylons filled with a mix of flares and rockets. The T'storms made it a hairy mission.

    I may be a bit crazy - but I didn't drive myself.

Here is a photo of me about to take off during the war, a couple months after 9/11. I had been in country a while so I've got my desert tan (both the flight suit and me!) I was "Dragon 04".

Obviously my face has been blurred for security reasons.

That is a Maverick missile, and we also carried Rockeyes, 500 pounders, Harpoons, and SLAM and SLAM-ER.

What's the armament under the wing?
It looks like it'd leave a dent in something!

Here is a fairly famous photo, I'm the guy with "checkers" on my helmet. Also the opening days of OEF. It was on the cover of Navy Times as well.

I'm 2nd from the guy in green.

This would have been the late 90's, Lemoore, CA.

Here's some photos from Adak, Misawa, Midway, Barbers Point. The pictures in the tube were from taking the General in charge of the Rapid Deployment Force to Diego Garcia in the early eighties right after it had been formed.
    Enjoy.
I'm in all except the mooning at Adak. I also caught the salmon by hand in a stream.

Here is a picture of my son standing next to the EA6-B prowler. His mom wanted to see the plane with his name on it. He had two tours on the Nimitz as a REO/navigator.

This is a picture of three EA-6Bs flying by Mt. Rainier. My boy is taking the picture from the fourth. They were training at Whidbey Island, Washington.

I believe on EA-6Bs the Naval Flight Officers on board are ECMOs, or Electronic Countermeasure Officers.

I could be wrong. I visited Whidbey many times and met many Prowler guys. I thought that's what they told me.

The name on the plane is Brian. Not to be confused with rabbit. Aerospace engineer, retired LTC USN reserve, rocket scientist at Redstone Arsenal Huntsville, Alabama.

A Lieutenant Colonel in the NAVY reserve? That would be a Commander. Unless he is an interservice transfer? But I didn't think they had that in the Navy. Could you explain, please?

Don't worry about it. There's no security reason to hide a face photo in these pictures. Someone is just afraid you'll come to kick their *.[:p]

This first plane looks like a T-34C. Standard Navy trainer. I have several hundred hours in it. Very fun, aerobatic plane! [:D]
