Received the fly reel yesterday. It's in better condition than I expected and fits that old fiberglass Cortland quite nicely.
Many thanks!

I finally made the first step in the pheasant hunt. Though I was looking for a 20 guage, I wound up with a 12 guage Franchi Aristocrat Silver King (1960-1969) LNIB. Next step is to send it to Briley to have the fixed chokes replaced with screw-ins, and have the forcing cones lengthened. Should end up with way more gun for the money than I expected to be able to afford. When that is done, we will talk hunting!

I received the VHS tapes today in the mail. I've not had a chance to watch them yet, but I do want to say I appreciate you giving them to me. Reading the back covers, it looks like I'm going to get a good education from them. Thank you

Thanks for reminding me about that fishing pole. No it has not been fixed yet.

My wife and I moved back in May for her work and we haven't had a weekend to ourselves since back in June. Maintaining the house I'm selling, Trying to fix it up, mowing the 5 acres yard... Finally got it on the market last month and got an offer on it already. Everything goes good and I will no longer own it November 27.

Her birthday is coming up in a few weeks and that pole would make a fine present. Thank you sir.

Didn't want to hijack your thread. Here's one for ya.[;)][:D]

A guy walks into a bar with his pet monkey. He orders a drink, and while he's drinking, the monkey jumps all over the place, eating everything behind the bar. Then the monkey jumps on to the pool table and swallows a billiard ball.

The bartender screams at the guy, "Your monkey just ate the cue ball off my pool table -- whole!"

"Sorry," replied the guy. "He eats everything in sight, the little buzzard. I'll pay for everything."

The man finishes his drink, pays and leaves.

Two weeks later, he's in the bar with his pet monkey, again. He orders a drink, and the monkey starts running around the bar. The monkey finds a maraschino cherry on the bar. He grabs it, sticks it up his *, pulls it out and eats it.

The bartender is disgusted. "Did you see what your monkey did now?" he asks.

"Yeah," replies the guy. "He still eats everything in sight, but ever since he swallowed that cue ball, he measures stuff first."

I'd like to add my thanks as well.

What kind of spacing should I be looking for?

Any certain type of soil they do best in??

    Suggested depth, planting bulbs?

I want to do them correctly, not just shove em' in the ground.

    Thanks again AQH.

Hello - Gents: The "ramp" bulblets don't require great depth - 1/4-1/3 of an inch is plenty. Sandy soil is best for being able to dig them - but even a clay/loam will work. Like asparagus - don't mess with them the first season. They will produce more bulblets for you to plant. After that you will have to make sure that they don't take over - or else "there everywhere-there everywhere".

The native Florida "birds-eye" pepper pods contain tiny seed. They only need a light covering. They are last seasons - so some of the seeds may not germinate. They will die back with the frost/freeze - but unless the ground really freezes - they will usually put out again the next growing season. They make good pepper vinegar for your vegetables. Also you can put them through the blender with other ingredients to make a mild salsa.

    Best Regards - AQH
