Colt is set to manufacture a 100 year anniversary edition of the original 1911.

Could someone please reference MSRP?

Thanks.

Gun club is getting 100 of these with the club emblem in the grip. Gonna look nice.

Suppose to be 100% mfg to original specs, anxious to see one myself.

Didn't they do that a few years ago, or was that a WWII-type M1911-A1 in an ardboard box as furnished to the military? What was that one?

    This is a new edition.

Which one are you going for, Jorge? Full-blown engraving with 22K gold, for collecting?
Or the other, with the cool roll-stamp, for shooting?

Got mine about a month ago. Can't bring myself to fire it yet.

Do these come with a half-cock notch, like the originals? I handled a modern 1911 that had a half-cock 'ledge', whereby the hammer fell if you pulled the trigger!

Which half-cock scenario do you have? Thanks, Joe

I'm going for the shooter. I'm saving the engraving for my next (.380) Seecamp.

Sweet! I'll bet each of those are looked after particularly well by the guys making them.

Nothing like a new Colt, with a Colt warranty! Lifetime to the original purchaser.

I could'n find any at the auction side, or at that other competing site that sells guns.

Could someone direct me to a stateside dealer that has one available?

Hmm. 3000 Series steel, not heat-treated? One-piece triggers milled from a solid block of barstock. Milled hammers...not blanked... grip and thumb safeties, plunger tubes and mainspring housings? Zero cast or MIM parts?

I'll believe it when I see it. Anybody who gets one, and is within driving distance of Lexington-Southmont, NC...bring it by. I'll break it down and get the inside story. Until then...Color me very skeptical.
