at a range in Albuquerque today and saw a family out for fun, or so I thought. The oldest son was maybe 10 or 11 and the dad was wearing surplus Nam era gear. He had the boy shooting a 12 ga defender and a ak-47. now this kid was poopin his pants every shot and the dad was screamin at the kid for missin. said he would never make Re-Con being such a lady part. well me and my big mouth had to get involved, so I mosey over and try to help coach the kid. ask the dad where he served and found he had traveled the globe with gun in hand for the Corp, places I had never heard of.asked what his MOS was and got a trail of pooh, think maybe cook for local fire dept.We discussed people who have a shyness for recoil and again he used the lady part word, so I let him shoot my 378 wby with no brake and he did not scream at the boy at all after that. point is, how can we bring in the next generation of shooters with morons like this around

Just read this over on GRAC. Needed to share the info.

Those Who Would Repeal the Right to Keep and Bear Arms

140 CONG. REC. S1864-01, S1866 (daily ed. Feb. 28, 1989) (statement of William Pattison). Sarah Brady has been cited as stating that, "Our task of creating a socialist America can only succeed when those who could resist us have been totally disarmed." 140 CONG. REC. H3063-05. H3071-H3072 (daily ed. May 5, 1994) (statement of Joel Carlston).
    SOCIALIST AMERICA??? REALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"We can't be so fixated on our desire to preserve the rights of ordinary Americans to legitimately own handguns and rifles ... that we are unable to think about reality."
-- Bill Clinton, USA Today, 11 March 93, pg. 2A
"The last time I checked, the Constitution said 'of the people, by the people and for the people'. That's what the Declaration of Independence says."

** Note: actually those words are in neither of those documents, but part of The Gettysburg Address by Abraham Lincoln
"We are taking the law and bending it as far as we can to capture a whole new class of guns [to ban]"
-- Jose Cerda, Los Angeles Times, 22 Oct. 1997, Mr. Cerda was named as a White House Official who specializes in gun control
    "Gun registration is not enough."
-- Janet Reno, U.S. Attorney General, Associated Press 10 Dec 1993
"I want to make it as hard as possible. Gun owners would have to be evaluated by how they scored on written and firing tests, and have to pass the tests in order to own a gun. And I would tax the guns, bullets and the license itself very heavily."
-- Jocelyn Elders, U.S. Surgeon General, Mother Jones magazine, Jan/Feb '94
"Armas para que?" ("Guns, for what?")
-- Fidel Castro, a response to a Cuban citizens who said the people might need to keep their guns, after Castro announced strict gun control in Cuba

"If it were up to me we'd ban them all [firearms]."
-- Mel Reynolds, U.S. Congressman, CNN Crossfire, 9 Dec 93
"We're going to have to take this one step at a time, and the first step is necessarily - given the political realities - going to be very modest. Right now, though, we'd be satisfied not with half a loaf but with a slice. Our ultimate goal - total control of all guns- is going to take time ... The final problem is to make the possession of all handguns and all handgun ammunition - except for the military, policemen, licensed security guards, licensed sporting clubs and licensed gun collectors - totally illegal."
-- Nelson T. Shields III, Founder of Handgun Control, Inc., New Yorker Magazine, p. 57-58, 26 Jul 1976
"There is no personal right to be armed for private purposes unrelated to the service in a well regulated militia."
-- Sarah Brady, Chairman, Handgun Control, Inc., Richmond Times-Dispatch, 6 Jun 97, pg. 6
"We must reverse this psychology (of needing guns for home defense). WE can do it by passing a law that says anyone found in possession a handgun except a legitimate officer of the law goes to jail-period!"
-- Carl Rowan, Washington DC Syndicated Columnist, 1981 article
" ... as long as authorities leave this society awash in drugs and guns, I will protect my family."
-- Carl Rowan, 1988 article titled "At Least They're Not Writing My Obituary"

** her husband is among NYC elite that has been issued a permit to carry a concealed handgun
"Those now possessing weapons and ammunition are at once to turn them over to the local police authority. Firearms and ammunition found in a Jew's possession will be forfeited to the government without compensation ... Whoever willfully or negligently violates the provisions ... will be punished with imprisonment and a fine.
-- Nazi Law, Regulations Against Jews' Possession of Weapons, 11 Nov 1938, German Minister of the Interior

"We will never fully solve our nation's horrific problem of gun violence unless we ban the manufacture and sale of handguns and semiautomatic assault weapons." USA TODAY, December 29, 1993.

"Why should America adopt a policy of near-zero tolerance for private gun ownership? ...(W)ho can still argue compellingly that Americans can be trusted to handle guns safely?" LOS ANGELES TIMES, December 28, 1993.

"If the personal freedoms guaranteed by the Constitution inhibit the government's ability to govern the people, we should look to limit those guarantees."
    -- President Bill Clinton, August 12, 1993

"And so a lot of people say there's too much personal freedom. When personal freedom's being abused, you have to move to limit it."
-- Bill Clinton on MTV's "Enough is Enough", 4/19/1994

"We must be able to arrest people before they commit crimes. By registering guns and knowing who has them we can do that. If they have guns they are pretty likely to commit a crime."
-- Vermont State Senator Mary Ann Carlson

"I am one who believes that as a first step, the United States should move expeditiously to disarm the civilian population, other than police and security officers, of all handguns, pistols, and revolvers...No one should have the right to anonymous ownership or use of a gun."
-- Professor Dean Morris, Director of Law Enforcement Assistance Administration, stated to the U.S. Congress

"We're bending the law as far as we can to ban an entirely new class of guns."
-- Rahm Emmanuel, senior advisor to Bill Clinton

Rahm Emmanuel, now where have I heard that name before...

"If I could have gotten 51 votes in the Senate of the United States for an outright ban, picking up every one of them. "Mr. and Mrs. America, turn 'em all in," I would have done it. I could not do that. The votes weren't here."
-- U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein (D/CA) speaking of her authorship of the 1994 Assault Weapons Ban on "60 Minutes" 2/5/95

    Does that scare anyone now?

"We must get rid of all the guns."
-- Sarah Brady speaking on behalf of HCI with Sheriff Jay Printz & others on "The Phil Donahue Show" September 1994

Our main agenda is to have ALL guns banned. We must use whatever means possible. It doesn't matter if you have to distort facts or even lie. Our task of creating a socialist America can only succeed when those who would resist us have been totally disarmed."
-- HCI President Sarah Brady to Senator Howard Metzenbaum, The National Educator, January 1994, p.3

"I don't care about crime, I just want to get the guns."
    -- Senator Howard Metzenbaum, 1994

"We're going to hammer guns on the anvil of relentless legislative strategy! We're going to beat guns into submission!"
    -- U.S. Representative Charles Schumer (D/NY) on NBC 12/8/93

"Waiting periods are only a step. Registration is only a step. The prohibition of private firearms is the goal."
-- U.S. Attorney General Janet Reno, December 1993

There will be blood. Hopefully theirs.[:(!][:(!][:(!]

We should be spending a lot more time worrying about what Obama is currently doing/might do rather than worrying about what Bill Clinton, Janet Reno, Jocelyn Elders, Daniel Patrick Moynihan (dead since 2003) or Mel Reynolds (out of office due to a conviction of sexual abuse and statutory rape in 1995) had to say about guns 15 years ago.

It is not the people that I am concerned about. It the mindset that is so prevalent with the socialist progressive agenda. Doesn't matter the name of the person or when it was said. The idea that there are people out there with an agenda and a will to strip away freedoms at almost any cost.

Gradualism is their game plan. Incrementalism is their go-to plan of choice. Bit by bit, they seek power at the expense of our freedom. They seek control at the expense of our liberty.

This should be a huge wake-up call. They haven't changed their plan, just the faces of those implementing the take-over.

Collectivism comes from all parts of the political spectrum and is inclusive of far more that 'socialist progressive'.

Learning what collectivism is and how and from whom it manifests, is the critical task. Once learned, it becomes crystal clear.

    +1 on the post, cooper.

Saying they want to take our guns, or passing laws to take 'em, is not the same as ACTUALLY taking them. I'm willing to let the gun grabbers kiss my *.

Example: Media big 3/4 are already skewed to the left, agreed. Small story abouta shooting. A gun show straw purchase. A weapon soldto an illegaloreven a planted party hack purposely breaking the current laws just as an attention grabber.

Little by little, the media outlets massage the story into............REASONABLE RESTRICTIONS.....No one can be against (fill in the blank)...Right? All it takes is for another 9/11 and we have a Super Patriot Act on Steroids further restricting our Freedoms. We have to be vigilant. Aware of the mindset that is so prevalent in our so-called leaders. We, the true believers in the Oath, scare the hell out of them!

Remember the last thing Ol' Mel Gibson screamed in BRAVEHEART?

Freedom. Not to be taken for granted. It is a gift to be cherished.
