So, just what constitutes a blem to them? I see a lot of their ads say BLEM, but no other info.

from what I have seen and what others have posted it you look real close , not always you may find a finish ( coating / paint ) flaw like a dark spot or a small run , I have never heard any one say any thing bad about the blem being real noticeable .

Finish imperfections(allegedly), fully functional, and safe. I say allegedly, because most of the time you can't find anything wrong. I have 4 stripped lowers, and have purchased an M4 that were all "blems". One of the stripped lowers has a few wavy lines in the finish if you hold it in the sunlight just right. I think somebody on here said they called PSA, and asked where the blems were supposed to be, and they were told "inside the mag well.

I currently have four rifles built on blem lowers, and have built many others and whatever they consider a blemish is not obvious to me. Twice I have ordered multiple blem lowers and received sequential serial number lowers so I don't know if it is a finish issue or what. Mine have all assembled with out a hitch.

$49.99 each is pretty effective on its own, in fact selling $49.99 lowers instead of blemished lowers might be an even better tactic. [;)]

If you can find a blemish on a PSA lower, you are a better man than I. I have 3 ARs on PSA blem lowers, and have built 3 others for friends.

I have never been able to see anything that rises to the level of a scratch, spot, faded area...Nothing.

    Buy one and be happy.

Whatever it is they consider a "blem" is an issue with the finish. Maybe the finish inside the mag well is uneven?

I worked for a tire manufacturer for 33 years, and a blem usually was a tiny bit of black in the whitewall or white letter. Any mechanical defect was cause to destroy the tire. I figured the same rule applied to something you would in effect set off an explosion next to your face inside!
Thanks again for all the info.

The first time you shoot even an unblemished one it will have some blems caused by you. So what is the difference if you buy a blem or cause it yourself. If their cheaper that way I'd go that route every time.

I have bought 3 Blem AR15 lowers and 2 Blem AR10 lowers from them. Only 1 of the AR10 lowers had a noticeable blemish. I have been very happy with them.

All of my PSA lowers are forged "L.W. Schneider" mil spec quality... out of Illinois....If your lower serial number prefix is LW then that is who forged it according my research.

The older AP pre-fix lowers were made by Aero Precision for PSA.

The SC pref-fix lowers made by FN in SC.

There is also a PA pre-fx and that manufacturer is undetermined or "stealth"

If you google the following you'll find another forum thread that has lots of info.

I never found any blemishes on mine, & I have 2 more on the way. Why do I have 2 more coming? I have no idea [:0][:D]
