The AR-15 shortage is OVER!

Well maybe. I went to the only area gun store today and they had 5 AR's on the rack all new additions in the last week. Still have a WASR for sale too.

Three AR's were of one of the many new makers I did not recall. One was a used Bushmaster and the 5th one was a AR type but specialized for target shooting.

less then 900 for the new ones on the rack. We're talking about 849.00 or wal mart pricing.

Still bare in the other places I went to.

And 22 cal just ran out in town. None to be had and no word when it will be re stocked.

I figure it was only a matter of time before people started selling them back. Those that paid 2000+ for a 700 dollar gun will be sadly disappointed.

I just bought a brand new Bushmaster Carbon 15 for $750 in this GB auction:

This GB seller has sold a bunch of the same Bushmaster models at $775 Buy It Now:

I was in Cabelas on Saturday and saw several people handling AR-15's at the gun counters. Don't know how many they had but the place was still packed, it was in the afternoon and they still had at least three AR-15's to sell.

So yeah I think things are improving. With the failure of a new Assault Weapon Ban in the Senate, it should reach some level of normalcy.

Manufacturers do have a lot of back orders to catch up on, so the effect of the Big Scare will be a while going away completely.

The remaining very real concern is new limits on magazine capacity and more ineffective and burdensome background checks.

I just bought a new Bushmaster ORC, (not carbon) for $799.00 and thought I would make a few bucks on it but guess I'm stuck with it.[:(]

Yup, the ORC (Optics Ready Carbine) is the same configuration as the Carbon 15 I bought. So aluminum upper and lower cost you $49 more? Or maybe $100 to $125 more if it came without an optic or other sights?

A good price for the conventional Bushmaster!

I will try out the Bushnell red dot that comes with my gun, but anticipate selling that. I already have an EoTech 511 HWS.

I haven't even pulled the bolt back on mine yet. It still has the yellow flag in it. If I have to keep it I am going to see if Bushmaster will do a little changing on it.

My local Walmart, last night, had 4 new Colt AR's on display. I didn't handle them to get their model number, but they were short barrelled and had the telescoping buttstocks. They were selling for $1147 each. [:)] So, supply is starting to catch up with demand. It'll probably still be a few more months.

Just wait till Feinstein starts yapping about banning AR-s again...the prices will artificially inflate once more!

I saw three colt AR-15's in my local Wal-Mart. The prices were $850, $950, and $1050. I liked the $850 one better. I just don't want another AR as I am still in mourning over the boating incident.

Yeah, I agree that's the threat alright. If people like her make enough noise, if news media picks it up and repeats it, then people will get scared. That drives up prices, speculators try to get ahead of it by raising prices to where they guess they will go.

There is a chance though that if she tries again while people are tired of hearing about it, her effort will fizzle. No impact on prices, no panic buying.

All in the timing and in the media reaction.

Just bought my new Bushmaster at $750. Here on GB. The shipping is less than the sales tax would be, maybe half.

So it's going well I think.

I'd like to know what model Colt you can buy at Wally for $850....perhaps another brand, but unless someone miss priced it Colts haven't been that low in years.

Now I wish I had handled it! I was taking the salesman's word. I could see the prices and I know at least one was a Colt.

The Demand seems to be hard to fill. The 5 AR's I saw at the gun store? ALL are sold now.
