Trust me,,the age of consent is 18 in cali and they dont have the close age difference rule either . About 5yrs ago My middle son went on a trip with friends and his girlfriend..He had just turned 19 by a few weeks,,She liked about 3 weeks being 18, Like 14 months difference between them. Some others in the group got picked up for causing a disturbance at the hotel bar,,The Police checked out everyone in the group. They popped him for having an underaged girl in his hotel room, Sex with a minor and carring an underaged female across state lines for the purpose of sex. It cost 10K in Attorney fee's to get what we could dropped and the rest lowered to misdemeanors, Then another $3200 in fines in the plea bargain
And that is why I posted my first post re: the topic.

More dumb police work. Why did they feel the need to go arrest him while he was on duty, carrying his weapon and manning a DUI checkpoint?? Why couldn't they wait till he came back to the station to report off and grab him while he was changing or checking out for the night? Stupid. [:(!] I'm not being an Ida Dunn, just giving my opinion based on the facts available to me from reading the article.
He was intimidating witness's from his duty station? Maybe the witness's should have avoided his check point.

You didn't read the article. It says the suspect was intimidating witnesses and had to be detained immediately.
