A Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries Enforcement Division agent was found shot to death this morning (Sept. 30) in West Feliciana Parish, the agency reported.
The body of 47-year-old Sgt. Paul Stuckey of Zachary was found next to his patrol vehicle by local fishermen at the old ferry landing along the Mississippi River just west of St. Francisville at daybreak, LDWF said.
Stuckey apparently suffered a shotgun wound to his chest, LDWF said.
West Feliciana Sheriff's Office deputies were the first on the scene, and notified LDWF at 7 a.m.
"Our hearts go out to the Sgt. Stuckey family, and his extended family of fellow agents will be there to help them through this tough time," said Col. Winton Vidrine, head of LDWF's Enforcement Division.
According to LDWF dispatch, Sgt. Stuckey's last known communication with the department came at 2:15 a.m. when the agent said he was responding to a night-hunting complaint.
Sgt. Stuckey had been with the LDWF Enforcement Division for 18 years. The cause of his death is currently under investigation. His body was turned over to the West Feliciana Coroners Office.

I would imagine the shotgun blast to the chest caused his death..
Question should be What person and or circumstance was the cause?
Hope they find the Killer..
It stands to reason that a game warden would be wearing a bullet resistant vest at all times, IMHO.
RIP..God Bless his family
+1
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
Hoe that the perp or perps are found out soon and apprehended one way or the other expediciously. [V] [:(] [:(!]
