Question for dog owners

My wife asked me to ask if anyone on this site can recommend a quality automotive seat cover for dogs. We have a long trip coming up and will be taking our German Shepherd. She will ride in the back of the Chevy crew cab on the bench seat. Saw several online, but the wife asked me to ask this audience in anyone has a brand to recommend.

I use a weaved rug, it is washable, tough, Amish people make them here any length I want.

I just use an old furniture movers heavy duty blanket, not a seat cover per-say but it works & I can shake off the dirt and hair when needed [;)]

The one from LL Bean is very pricey but first rate. One time I let a massively shedding yellow lab ride in the back of a car with cloth seats for a few hours. I NEVER got all the hair out. Worked on it for hours with a vac, tape, you name it. Make sure the dog isn't shedding a lot!

like to find one like the brown duck coveralls...but the rug and movers sound good...rescue buddy #2 sheds the bottom fine coat all the time ..but it matches the carpet and we vacuum more often ....no biggee

There are several companies that make neoprene seat covers. It is the same stuff wetsuits are made of, and it is GREAT. 100% waterproof, mudproof, etc. We have them in our "dog car" which is our old Xterra. We let the dogs get in, and don't worry about it, because we have those seat covers.

The seat covers fight tight, also, and don't come off like regular cloth seat covers, which are worthless when it comes to hair. The hair just rolls right off of these.

They aren't cheap, but they have lasted 10+ years so far. Well worth the money. We got them off of amazon, but I don't remember the brand name.

Duluth Trading company has one made out of their "Firehose Canvas."

I believe they offer it in the coverall brown you are looking for Spasmcreek. Other colors sre Natural, or grey.

So far, all the dog items I've purchased from them, various dog coats out of the "Firehose Canvas" lined with Berber Fleece, have been top notch.

I've been wanting to order some furniture covers of this material that they offer.

I use this one for my Pointer, it hooks up easy and stays in place have used it for about a year and have no complaints.

Fitted bottom queen sheet - holes for her seat belt.
Easy to put in easy to take out and wash. I shake it out a couple times on long trips - as she sheds[chesapeake] like crazy. So spoiled a korean wouldn't eat her[:D]

I have a Ford F150 extra cab. It has small doors to the back area.

Just don't even think about shaving her. Saddest sight I'd seen in a while was an idiot who though they were doing their Shep a favor by having her shaved during a hot summer. Criminal.

I like the "Hammock" looking thing it clips on the back of the head rests. Where the feet goes you might wanna pack it with boxes to give the pooch a better footing. And by doing that it extends the pooch bed.

I suppose it's easy to make since it's just a rectangle of material with it being able to be attached to the head rest or seat belt opening.

I always used Hatchie Bottom neoprene seat covers. They held up great and did the job. Easy to clean too.

I've heard they are really good.....my Uncle travels a lot with his two dogs and they use these things.

does your rear bench seat fold down? That is what I do in my dbl cab (not a Chevy). . I then cut a padded rubber mat (from Home Depot) to fit and put a dog mat on top. It accommodates a water dish nicely as well. Dog perfect and keeps the rear upholstery clean. It is kind of elevated. Be careful letting them hang out of window.
