Tell me about DPMS

Rural King had a DPMS oracle on sale for $498 is this a decent rifle? Never owned an AR before so I have little knowledge about them.

Yep.

They function fine. You are getting an assembly of the cheapest style parts, but they work fine.

The ones I sold at Academy were junk IMO, but curious about DPMS individual pieces or completes sold elsewhere.

I have a couple of DPMS ARs and they function flawlessly, are pretty accurate, and appear to be of pretty much the same quality as other, higher priced ARs I've seen. Sure, you can pay 2-3 times as much to get a big name, but if the DPMS functions flawlessly and is reasonably accurate, why call it junk?

No. Cheapest style parts. Collapsible stocks, A2 handguards, etc. This stuff works fine. Does not make them junk, just inexpensive.

These are common at the range. Can't recall ever seeing any problems with one.
Right now ARs are the lowest I have seen in 8 years are more, SW M&Ps are $449 and Colt M4 $899.
We are one more democrat congress away from another AWB.

That seems like a good deal. I don't see any quite that inexpensive here on GunBroker. And yes, I feel they are worth the money.
