I learned the tall ships were in the Duluth harbor this weekend. I took off for Duluth Sunday morning and was on the docks by 9am. Had a blast touring The Pride Of Baltimore. the Peacemaker, and the Chausseur(sp?). Had some good food and then took off towards home via Mille Lacs lake where I did some walleye fishing. Got walleye and jumbo perch fillets in the fridge now.
Made time to visit my uncle and spent the afternoon swapping gun stories and catching up. He then took me out for mexican food where my cousins daughter, his grand daughter, met us for supper. More good food then drive back home since it is back to work tomorrow.
Fun little 2 day jaunt where all the pieces of the puzzle fit together rather neatly. now looking forward to sleeping in my own bed tonight.

Sounds like a great weekend trip, I'll be in tofte in 2 or 3 weeks
You should send a hint of where you found fish on Mille lacs.. I've been fishing north of brainerd without much luck. Down south by faribault has been decent.

fishing was slow on Mille Lacs. Twin Pines resort has a Sunday -Wed package that was worth doing. Dinner, breakfast, room for the night and two 4 hr launch trips for $115. At night we were in the middle of a huge mayfly hatch. Only caught a couple of walleye. Biggest was 25 inches and only 2 in the slot. Still fun on the water and got some sun on the morning trip.
