Qualification for retirees was today.
Here is most of the group. Pic was shot before the last one or two arrived.
Chief Powers, 87 years old. Quite a guy.
One of the range officers, Jeff Gore, mugging the camera.
Me with the target I shot with my .45 ACP Colt Commander.
Ditto with .38 Super Colt Commander. (I shot twice.)
That's me in the grey pants and black shirt.
Bill Webb. Good friend.
It was a good time, and a bunch of us went out for lunch afterward.

Chief Powers looks pretty good for being 87.
W.D.
spending time and I am sure a lot of story telling , with all the years of experience on the field I am sure several books could be written
sorta looks like a movie where all the experienced guys come out and save the day
the Chief looks a lot like a friend of mine who retired about 10 years ago from the same company I just retired from ( he also has a great fondness for firearms )
If you got any closer to the target David you could hold the target in one hand and shoot it with the other hand. [;)][:D]
Wait that was the target? I thought it was simulated cover.
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain

Well, yeah. Look how close you are! [:0][;)]

I was wondering if Nunn had another pistol in his pocket or if he was just glad to see us.[:D][:D]

I guess I can come out of the shadows now since I'm not subject to anyone's social media policy.
It was a good day, always fun to get together and see who's still kicking. I served under two of the three retired chiefs who were there.
Pic 3, I've never seen a nail apron used in qualifying. Looks like it would work though. [:D]
If that's who I think it is he's a retired state trooper who was a long time member of their pistol team back in the day. Old guy or not, he'd be a serious challenge to beat.
Back in the revolver days nail aprons were commonly used to tote loose rounds when you were going through a bunch per range session. You went downrange with it full of live rounds and came back with your policed brass. Now rinse and repeat.
When you get of this age, you stand closer to a lot of things.[8D]
Now that's funny. [:D]
I'm going to paraphrase that and use it. Okay?
Clouder..
