Got two a tennant left. One large one slightly smaller. No one will take them without having to pay a large disposal fee. Any suggestions?

Many local landfills accept them; they eventually go to China in a shipping container. Desperate peasants take the TV's apart to recover the valuable trace metals, even though fumes make them sick.

Best Buy will accept old TV's without a charge and recycle them, but they do have screen size limits.quote:Originally posted by Lago

Take the disposal fee out of their security deposit money. If you have already returned their deposit then they are all yours to do as you want.

We take them to the landfill.

They really send them off to be "mined" overseas. They do a lot of that in West Africa.

Go to a store that sells TV's. Get a empty box and put your used TV in it and then put it in your pickup and park it in a Wal-Mart parking and go inside and shop or have lunch for about a hour. When you come out, it will be gone. Be aware, you might come out of the store and find the TV still there and the box will be gone. Go behind the store and you might find your old high school buddy sleeping in it.

Gift wrapped them and leave them in your car on any street in a major city.

Had an big old tube TV to get rid of. Recycled the circuit boards, then pulled the tube out of the cabinet.

Set the tube in the garbage container (it barely fit) and busted the cabinet up and stacked it beside the container.

    Both were hauled off.[:D]

Nobody wants them for "Free" so put a "For Sale" sign on it and someone will steal it.

If it's one of those big * projection type they have cool magnifying lenses inside. Also I think the screen can be used to start fires.

Dumps around here take "electronic wastes" for free.

    Do they work?
If they do you might check with local churches.
There will be a need for working electronics, even old stuff, along the Texas coast.
