I just listed a very nice late war Springfield rebuild:

This is a nice clean rifle with a nearly new barrel but it won't be a safe queen, you can take this one out and shoot it. If I was looking for a WWII era M1 then this is a rifle that I would be very interest in.

Before being released by the CMP, this rifle appears to have never been reissued after leaving he depot and the barrel is virtually brand new.
The wood is also exceptional for a CMP rifle:
The "fat days" at the CMP are long gone. There are now long waits for M1s and no longer any choice of manufacturer. It is 100% luck of the draw now. If you would like a WWII era M1 which is in exceptional condition then I suggest giving this rifle serious consideration as it would be very hard to upgrade.

If you lost out on the last rifle then this one is (IMO) a bit nicer.
To be fair to all, I kept the opening bid the same as the previous listing.
First up is a nice rebuild of a mid-WWII era Springfield:

This is a good looking Springfield M1 with a nice barrel and would be a fine shooter or perfect for those looking for a WWII era rifle.
Why did last weeks sell for?
$865. I had hoped for more, but what can you do?
