Question for the married guys....How would your wife feel if she was never again allowed to vote in a Federal election?... Note: This relates to some posts in the obama mandatory voting thread and I didnt want to butt in on it.

She would be pissed off just as I would be.
She is an American citizen by birth...worked all her life.

One thing is, if women didn't vote liberals wouldn't have a chance. However, the hardest working people that actually believe in the constitution here in my county are women.

I have shirts, yard signs, a sign for my truck and worked the polls to support a woman that is one of the best candidates I could ever hope to find. I would vote for her for any office she chose to seek. She is the hardest working most honest person I've ever seen run for office.

Whereas the wives might be seriously pizzed off, what else is new!![:D] Remember that women voters gave us Bill and Obama and if we end up with Hillary the women voters will have given her to us!! So I would say the Founders knew what they were doing when women didn't have a say.

Remember, women have been screwing things up since Eve was created!![}:)]

The only reason my wife would be mad was because someone told her should couldn't vote. I think the only reason she even votes is because I make a big deal out of it.

The good thing is my vote is actually 4 votes. I fill out a sample ballot for my wife, her sister and husband and all 4 of us vote that ballot[;)]

Very similar to how it is around here.
Some will die in hot pursuit
    And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
    While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
    Coming down the mountain

How hard would it be to simply do it the way the U. S. Constitution says to do it?
    quote:Each State shall appoint, in such Manner as the Legislature thereof may direct, a Number of Electors, equal to the whole Number of Senators and Representatives to which the State may be entitled in the Congress;
If we ever dust off the Constitution and actually decide to use it all the discussions about federal elections would go away. According to the Constitution there are no federal elections. The citizens of each state choose their Electors the way they want to choose them. The "federal election" is when the Electors go to Washington, DC and vote for the President.

Under the Constitution you could have a situation where in Oregon only women could vote and in Massachusetts only men could vote. If that happened I think the state politicians would have short careers. Not necessarily a bad thing.
The road to hell is paved with COMPROMISE.

I have NEVER allowed my wife to vote. She has absolutely NO BUSINESS voting whatsoever. And yes, I have told that to her face, and she fully agrees with me. You bunch of wussies.....

BTW, my wife of 44 years is a loyal subject of her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth 2nd. British, don't you know, old chap! Never been a US citizen. Has a green card and a black and gold passport.

I've said it before here, and I'll say it again,...I think it was better when women couldn't vote. I know there are exceptions, but the majority have no business voting. My own mother and her best friend agree with me BTW. They would give up their rights for the good of the nation.

Simple fact is MOST women vote based on emotion, and not logic. One of the biggest reasons for all of the 'programs' we have is female voters. Think about it and tell me I'm wrong.[:)]

"It's for the children" is just one of the many mantras that come to mind. They never run out of ideas that they are willing to spend everybodys money on.

I'm not talking about being fair,...I'm talking what would be best for the country. No worries though, it will NEVER, EVER happen, and I am aware of that.

My grandfather ran for Congress in 1916. I saw some of his old campaign buttons & literature. He had three main topics. 1. Prohibition 2. Keep us out of the war 3. woman's suffrage

In his old age he still maintained he was right about the first two.
It really hurt him when grandma registered as a Republican.
Remember they promised us that giving women the vote would end all wars.

Telling my wife that she can not vote would be like telling her she can't carry her pistol. I'm not going to be the one to tell her.
