Gun Listings

I am going to be listing a few rifles and shotguns for a friend of mine on here. The first one is going to be a Remington 300 magnum that he bought for elk hunting and never used. Couple of old shotguns that are very nice. I will let you all know when I list them. Taking pictures this weekend. The rifle is almost NIB and is going cheap. He just wants to clean out his gun collection because he is getting older and doesn't shoot much anymore. I think I am going to start them at a penny start, but he is weary of that and wants to start them at a fixed price. I will talk him into a penny start and a buy it now price. Oakie

    He is a really great guy. Retired law enforcement academy instructor for snipers and cadets. Best shot I ever seen. [;)] Very personable. He said he doesn't want much for the guns, just as long as they go to someone that will enjoy them. The older shotguns were his fathers. I think they are fox and some other famous brand. He said they are just collecting dust[:D]

    I've never had a problem getting very good money for my guns on here, and I always start at a fixed price. I am not going to risk taking a beating with a penny auction. Volume sellers can get away with it, but not a gun once and a while seller.

    If your friend is not asking what you know should be close to market value, or what GB completed auctions indicate, adjust accordingly. Good luck Oakie.
    What's next?

    We could only find a name I never heard of, Vulcan. It is a 16 gauge side by side. He also has an old British enfield rifle he is going to sell. I will have all the info in the next two days. Oakie

    good luck Oakie
    let us know
    I agree the volume dealers can chance loosing on a couple and make up on another .
    I would start at the least your willing to take and if no sale then maybe drop down to a low start .next time around
    the market (buyers) the majority of time will push the gun to a fair price ,
    so it is a tuff decision for a individual to sell one or two at a penny start and chance it. especially selling someone else's guns if I loose my own money vs loosing someone else's and explaining I am sorry [:(]

    Penny start auctions seem to always get bids, priced auctions can run without a bid. That said I understand the concern.
    Why don't we go to school and work on the weekends and take the week off!

    I think Vulcan is one of the trade names the Crescent Arms Co. used to put on for different retailers.
