In one final shot at his former primary rival Donald Trump, Ohio Gov. John Kasich wrote-in Arizona Sen. John McCain for president.
According to a cleveland.com report on Monday, Chris Schrimpf, the governor's political spokesman, confirmed Kasich cast his ballot for the 2008 Republican nominee even though he is not an official write-in candidate for president in Ohio.
Story Continued Below
Schrimpf said Kasich voted for Republicans on the rest of his absentee ballot.
Just last week, Trump said Kasich had not gotten over his primary defeat, continuing his very public back-and-forth with Kasich. The feud was vitriolic enough that the governor of a swing state decided he would rather his vote for the leader of the Free World be for a purely symbolic candidate than for his party's nominee.

After the fall out from a Hitlery win in November some of these morally unable to vote for Trump idiots may be eating crow.

Not voting for Trump is perfectly understandable.

But writing in McCain (and admitting it) has cost him any last bit of respect I held for the man.

There are official write-in candidates? For some reason, I thought all of them were unofficial... thus the write in.[?][?][?][?][?]

See, Trump said the election is rigged......even the write-ins are rigged [:0]. Our choices don't matter to the elites, just go through the motions like good little trained puppies [V]

It depends on which state. Some states allow anyone to write in any name they want, some require a write in candidate has to file an official document, some simply compile all write-ins into one 'write-in vote' category, others don't allow write-ins at all.

That is why 3rd parties try so hard to get to the 5% threshhold required to be considered an 'official' party.
