need help contacting American Express

Does someone know how to get in touch with an American, supervisor-level employee with American Express? I've been around and around with them on a contested charge, and it's getting nowhere.

The people I do talk to follow their procedures and whatnot, but they're not UNDERSTANDING, and I'm not able to elevate to a level where I can talk to a person born here and can "get what I'm saying."

Do they have physical offices that are accessible to cardholders? I'd love to pop in for a visit...

No guarantee I'm talking to someone in CONUS.

Try calling investor service. Those folks are real.

See if they have a Facebook account. Complain there.

Maybe I'm wrong, but my understanding is that if you ask for an agent in CONUS, due to language issues, they are required to accommodate you.

I applied to AMEX in my College years, (after 5 years in the Army.) They declined to do business with me.

Now everytime they send me an "offer" for their card, I send it back with an explanation of why I will NEVER do business with them.

    F**k AMEX.

It is my understanding that if you ask for a United States service rep, they are required to patch you through. I have heard this, I have asked and gotten USA based customer service, not with AE. I would never use them.

They are not *required* by law:

No use for AMEX. Had a card for less than a year, and when it was all over, I had their legal office tell me I did everything but offer to run their accounting office for them in trying to fix a billing SNAFU.

Not sure how they stay in business.
