Actually this one has some common sense to it.

I was expecting the one with the little pickup and a home air conditioner cut into the cab and being run by a small portable generator running in the bed of the little truck.[:D][:D]

One of my engineers took a standard box fan and coiled 10 or 15 feet of soft copper tube which was then zip tied to the grid of the fan. He had a styrofoam cooler full of ice water and a little pump to circulate the ice water through the coil. Kept his beedroom cool enough until the AC guy could get the part needed to repair the central unit.

My wife and I toured an old mansion in Jim Thorpe, PA and the guy who built it (circa late 19th century) had something similar installed.

I was extremely impressed. Because air conditioning is more important to me than food.

My Great grandmothers house in Greenville, AL was built in the mid 1800's that was about the most miserable hot I have ever been. But her biscuits and fried chicken more than made up for it.

Except that to make the ice in the home totally defeats the effect. You'd either have to use an outdoor icemaker or buy ice from somewhere.
Some will die in hot pursuit
    And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
    While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
    Coming down the mountain

The only problem with that entire set is where do you get Ice when there is no power? When the duratio hit us here 2 years ago, power was out for a week everywhere. Gas pumps didn't work and neither did ice chests. We had a heat wave after the storm so the week from hell was battled with swimming pools and garden hoses.
