Back from a week in Jamaica, Mon...

No problem. Stayed in a resort in Montego Bay. Nine restaurants. A bar every 30 feet. All part of the price. Eat and drink all you want, Mon.

River rafting. Too many pools and hot tubs to count. Beautiful beaches.

Rained every damn day we were there. Still got in a lot of excursions. Did some shopping. Generally had fun.

Plenty of women in skimpy bikinis. Maybe 20% you wanted to see. The others...well, not so much.

Well you're only supposed to take a picture of the 20%ers. And then you brag how every one of them looked that beautiful [:D]

Jamaica a truly beautiful place. Nice natives and beaches. Lovely to visit, not to live there however.

Doc, if you don't mind, I would like to know what resort it was that you stayed at. The wife has always wanted to go there. Do they have different packages that are cheaper for non-drinkers? Thanks.

We were at Sandals. Couples only and no kids. Not just old folks as suggested above. There were lots of young people but resort was quiet by 10 pm. Party boats went out with loud music and dancing. Many pools.

Price was inclusive of food and drinks so eat and drink all you want. No tipping allowed. But food service is slow. Order meals an hour before you plan to be hungry. Biggest pain is if you want to leave resort property as transportation is pricey.

Sandals has three hotels. We were at the Royal Caribbean and it's the middle one in quality. The Montego Bay is the nicest one. The Carlisle was a dump so avoid it. But whichever you stay at free shuttles take you to the others. So we went to the Montego Bay to shop and play then back to our room at the Royal (which was cheaper). Really pricey rooms are on the water. I mean, open your door and step into wet.

Couple more photos. A bird sanctuary where they are so tame they will eat from your hand. A beach shot. One of the quiet pools. Others were larger with with swim up bars.

Looks quiet, peaceful and a great place to unwind. Salt air, sea and sandy beaches tend to soothe my soul.
Just what I look for on a vacation getaway.
    Boring works for me.[8D]

So did you partake on the local eats? Not that hotel buffet but the jerk chicken cooked up in a drum? Or some of that ackey fruit and fish? Visit Bob Marley's house and smoked a fat joint? I know you went out outside the wire to some dance halls.

Not a Doc, but my ex-wife that went with me is... Have been to a couple of resorts in Jamaica and this was absolutely top shelf. Treated this poor southern boy and my lady like royalty.

We had lunch at Margaritaville one day but otherwise no.

Yes, if laying on the beach is boring then photos of the beach will bore you. The resort is not particularly raucous. It's for relaxing. We have done plenty of fast paced vacations and this time we wanted to slow it down some.

Sandals Royal has been a favorite of ours.Usually hang on the island by those new water suites. We stay there and use the other 3- yeah even the Carlyle. It's near the Hip Strip, always some good smoke there and LEGAL. Just don't smoke in public-it's a $5 dollar fine[B)]
Bad ju ju going on as of late.
