    that explains a lot I have always wondered how they could sell and ship a item for less than the shipping cost the USA
    I always assumed china did it to undercut cost

    I've bought a few items for 99 Cents with free shipping from China. Yep, free shipping in the U.S. and get a TRACKING number that "pops up" when it's inside the U.S.

    My guess, the Chinese probably don't pay anything, individual items go to a bulk shipping container, either air or sea for next to nothing, gets dumped at the post office where they enter the tracking and FREE TO ME.

    post office has subsidized shipping from china been like that for years .99 to usa but return will cost ya 20.00..been wondering when he would get wind of this[^]

    I needed a 2" (nom) plastic plug for a 3 point hitch attachment. Water could enter a vertical tube and be trapped. I found one that I could get for less than $1.00 with free shipping. It came in about two weeks from Viet Nam!

    $5 item from NY 150 mi away - $8.50

    Difference 3 days from NY
    2 weeks from china.
