I've had only one bike. It was a 1976 Suzuki 380 GT Blue.
I scared me on it at 100mph with a lot of throttle left.
I got rid of it instead of finding out just how much faster would it go.

I was about to send a nasty-gram until he mentioned the CBX.
It's too late for me, save yourself.

A friend came by with his new Kawasaki Z-1 and wanted me to try it. "Get on the high way and really get on it" said he. I hit 4th at just over 70 and the front wheel came off the ground. I nearly wet his scooter. May have been the first 'super bike.'

IMO the Yamaha RD/LC line deserved mention.
Some of the biggest thrills I've had with my pants on involved a '74 RD400.
Bought it from the original owner for $200 and only showed 714 miles. Rebuilt the brake cylinders, replaced all hoses and installed a pair of Avon Venom tires for less than $250.
It was fun to ride, but at six foot two wasn't very comfortable for me. All hunched over I felt like a monkey f*'n a football. Put an additional 1200 miles on and sold for a $2000 profit.

    I'm partial to the H2.

The only picture I have of it.

I'd agree with that. My brother had a tricked out RD400, (I had an equally tricked out RD250) later a wicked tricked out Kawi 750 triple. I campaigned a tricked out 75' RD 350 in WERRA, in the early/mid 80's/90's. (Lots and lots of SpecII parts.) Those bikes are scary fast. Running with modified four stroke 750's was no problem.

Won lots of $$ back in the day, (High school) guys that thought their KZ650 was the king of the roost. Would laugh when we pulled up on our little weed whackers, blowing smoke. We'd just smile, and take their $$. Those were the days.

My brothers 750 sported a Denco Rat Motor. Lots and lots of mods. One BA bike. Piranha fairing, and rear solo seat, many many one off mods. Wish I could post a photo. One gorgeous bike. The epitome of BA Superbikes from the 70's.

That was mine as bought from Nick. No mod's, just the windshield, backrest and rack. He'd bought it to commute to-from work and then the plant he worked at closed so he drained the tank, ran the carbs out and rolled it into his garage where it collected 30? years worth of dust. After I determined what it was and got it running I tried offering Nick another $400 (what I could afford) and he refused it. I wish others could see Nick as I do. He's a pretty good egg.

Love those bikes. My brother had a somewhat rare, green on green Canadian model. Coffin tank, rearsets, K&N's, chambers, K&N Superbike bars, ported & polished, those things would scream. Those were the days.

November 21 2003 I wrote a check for a brand spanking new VStar 1100 Classic. JMHO, it was cheaper than a shrink.

I smoke and I drink beer. I've rappelled, rode dirt bikes and trials bikes, broke horses and defiled chaste women. In other words, I live life. Somethin's gonna kill me. It might as well be a motorcycle as some dingbat cager hits me as I walk across the street.

Life is not a journey to the grave with intent on arriving in a beautiful well preserved body, but to slide in sideways, totally worn out, thoroughly used up loudly proclaiming Holy Poop what a ride.

My first street bike, Black Honda 300 Dream, then at the same time and same engine, 305 Honda Scrambler, my dirt bike, HEAVY. Then Yamaha RD400, open exhaust, increased jetting, neat bike.

But then new class, Honda CB750, Kawasaki KZ900. Onto Harley XLCH1000, then marriage. Dirt from then after. A lot of fun times, surprised I survived.[:D][8D]

Yep Fun and fast times. Smoke a big bock bragger with a 1k weed wacker. This one was still destroying new HD's 35 yrs later.
Brought a good price when I let go too
    mxbpk6v.jpg
Had most except the GL and CBX [drool]

Those 350 RD's could hang with our 500 and 750's all day long.
