Everyone, well,,, half of everyone should be glad Hillary didn't win and Kaine would be vice president.

Sunday on CBS?s ?Face the Nation,? Sen. Tim Kaine (D-VA) said the state of Virginia should replace the statue of Robert E. Lee at the Capitol in Washington D.C with Pocahontas.
http://www.breitbart.com/video/2017/08/20/dem-sen-kaine-replace-robert-e-lee-statue-pocahontas/ He said it with a straight face.

Guess the next generation will look up to Elizabeth Warren.

I would've thought Harriet Tubman before Pocahontas to score some brownie points.

    Why

She really did nothing except save John Smith.

She married a whiteman, went to england and died.

    Big deal.

I figure the lefty libtards would hate her because she sold out to the whiteman and was christian.

    Tim Kane is an idiot.

Nah. Replace it with a statue of Tim Kaine, complete with packs of $100 bills hanging out of his suit pockets. THAT is what VA deserves.

There is no such thing as a good choice for Lee's statues, considering the facts of the matter.

In a way Pocahontas was a traitor to the American Indian as she showed the 'invaders of Indian country' a path to the west coast.

Now is that someone to be celebrated?

    [:0][;)]

In that case she would fit right in with the rest of the traitors on capitol hill.

That would be Sacagawea, not Pocahontas.

Pocahontas is rumored to have saved the life of John Smith, and went on to spend a number of years in England.

They will live to regret having attacked Lee and the southern people, provided there is a decent bone in their bodies.

You are very optimistic, kimi. Willful ignorance is a very difficult malady to cure.

Tim Kaine is a dolt, and an embarrassment to the Commonwealth.

And FWIW, the name of the daughter of Chief Powhatan was not Pocahontas. That was a nickname that translates as "little playful one". The child's name was Matoaka.

No reason not to add to the monuments on Monument Ave. How about Cpt Sally Tomkins? Walter Reed- not the hospital- the doc that found how Yellow Fever was spread. Want to add a black woman that truly deserved a statue? How about Maggie Walker?

Young folks today need heroes. God knows you will have a hard time finding them among politicians.

Well, I wouldn't object to Halle Berry in her 007 bathing suit.[;)]

I have to wonder though. If the "goal" is to take down statues why didn't they do this when Obama was President? Or, instead of tearing down why don't they raise a few quid and put up their own statues?

Rhetorical questions of course. It's about making a stink, objecting and tearing down. Nothing more.
