Was going to relax this weekend, But

A friend called and his heater took a dump. The gas company condemned it, for a cracked heat exchange. He is on his way to get a new furnace at the supply house I deal with, and I have to put it in this afternoon. I really don't want to work today with my hand being so sore, but it is suppose to be in the 20's to 30's tonight, and he has a ten year old. I guess this is what friends do for friends. Well, at least I get to relax till noon, when he gets back.Oakie

You're a good man and a good friend. I hope he recognizes that and treats you the same.

Sounds like he has all the right connections.
No expert, but a bad heat exchanger is serious stuff, isn't it?
Like carbon monoxide blowing right out of the heat vents bad?

    Karma will come back around.

I'd be proud to be able to call you my friend.

Can you get one of the guys from your shop to come in and give you a hand? (No pun intended!)[:D]
Your hand's never gonna heal up if you keep stressing it.

My friends wouldn't ask me to install a furnace with a busted up hand. Get better friends. I am starting to believe you might have that personality disorder where you can't say no. I keep reading post after post where you are knocking yourself out for other people and it sure seems excessive. I think people are taking advantage of your kind heart and generous nature.

I hate to say this John, but I agree, to some extent.

Totally. No real "friend" would ask you work, hurt.

You can only be taken advantage of if you let yourself be taken advantage of.

I totally understand what you are saying[;)][:)] He is one of my best friends ever. He never really asks me for anything and is always there for me. He asked for suggestions and I told him I would take care of it. I love to help people, no matter if they are a friend or just an acquaintance. My dad and wife both tell me to stop letting people walk on me. It just makes me feel good and useful, to help people. I guess that is the way God built me. My reward is waiting when I pass. Hopefully he will allow me a spot at his table. Thank you for your comment and I know where you are coming from. Oakie
