Seller question, buyer question FFL question

I bought this pistol:
http://www.GunBroker.com/item/615500628

I had to negotiate with him on shipping he wanted over 80 bucks to ship it FEDEX overnight. (NOTE:BUYER BEWARE ON LISTINGS WITHOUT A SET SHIPPING COST, check with the seller before bidding.)

I got the shipping down to the $35 bucks his FFL told him it would cost to ship. I sent a copy of my receiving FFL to him via email.

All of a sudden he wants a copy of my drivers license too!

Nowhere in the listing does it state a drivers license copy is required for the sale. If it did, I would not buy it. I KNOW my D/L is not required by law for the shipping FFL. I also know the gun is going FFL to FFL as required by law.

I do not want to give a copy of my Drivers license to the seller. My D/L information is none of his business, I am sending a money order for payment as he requires, he needs nothing else.

Why would he need my Drivers license all of a sudden? He has 6 sales I have almost 120 with a A+ rating.

The item description clearly states $35 for shipping, so I don't see why he asked for more.

As for the DL, it's up to you how much back n forth you want with him, but I don't think it's needed.

It is a relist of an unsold item with reduced price and shipping listed when I bought it.

True, once he gets the money order and the FFL ships the gun to my FFL it is out of his life. If I don't pass background my FFL got himself a free gun!

I had an FFL on here, reject the two handguns I shipped to him, because he wanted a copy of my DL. I told him to ship the guns back and his buyer could stick it. The buyer called and insisted he wanted the guns but needed my DL, as according to federal laws. Uh, Negative. Send the guns back and I will send the money back. Never heard from him or his half * FFL guy.

Tell him you are Amish and never had a driver's license.

New folks don't always understand that the actual transfer is between them & your FFL, not between them & you. You are right, he doesn't really need your DL, but doing so would avert a whizzing contest & make him happy.

I wouldn't fault you if you responded, "The legal firearms transfer is between you & my dealer. If you want more than the legally required FFL copy, feel free to request it from my dealer." He'd probably give in, since GB would bust his ovaries if he refused to ship the gun.

It is all okay now. He was surprised I did not want to comply, saying his other buyers had no problem with the request! [:0]

He is getting the Money Order, and only the MO. [:)]

Passing out personal information to any feller that asks for it is how identity theft keeps going. [:(!][xx(]

You already sent him an MO, so if he's cheating you that would be money gone. At least this way he won't have your money and your identity.
