    Beat 1 egg. Add:
    -- 1/2 cup mayo
    -- 1 t wet mustard
    -- 1/2 t dry mustard
-- couple dashes of worcestershire sauce
    -- 1 T dry parsley
    -- 4 T of canned bread crumbs
    -- 1 t baking powder
    -- 1/2 t Old Bay
-- 1 lb can crab (picked)

This is a variant of a secret family recipe I found on the back of an Old Bay can.

I make them after slicing a loaf of Italian bread and cutting or pulling the innards out. Put in bowl, add ingredients and mash together with hands. Last, add crab and form. It works to just make crab balls too. The last time,I made pasta and a Alfredo sauce and threw in crab balls

At $36 a pound I already don't like it, and I do love me some crab.

More likely Indonesia or the Phillippines. But hey approximately 90% of all seafood consumed in the US is imported
Venezuela ..is one of the biggest suppliers(air shipment)You can buy Gulf Crabmeat if you ask for it...

Marylanders take their crabs seriously. Several years ago there was a shootout in G&M's carryout section. They had only one crabcake left, & the two men waiting argued over who would get it. One ended up in the morgue, the other in prison.

I don't care for Phillips crab meat. Their retail processing plant is in an industrial park in MD; they prepare fresh items for their own restaurants & seafood stores all over the region, & frozen for the supermarkets. Most of their crab comes from their cannery in Indonesia, but it is not the same species as the Blue Crab caught in the US. If you look at the crab meat, Indonesian back fin lumps have a black tip on each piece.

My local Costco seasonally has good North Carolina crabmeat @ $27/lb. You can't beat that.

The wife is from Maryland and yes crabs are king there.

Go with the recipe on the back of the Old Bay spice that and apple vinegar is what they use there.

Or go get the frozen Phillips pre made crab cakes. They are good as well.

Around here it seems all we get is "KRAB" meat. I think it is monk fish but then again with the krab label who knows.[|)]
