These folks along with Chuck Mangione and Herb Alpert gave the '60's a Latin flare that made any party a fiesta.

They brought brass back into popular music that went away with the big bands of the '40's.

Chuck Mangione's Feels So Good established him as one of the best horn players around.

Herb Alpert's Tijuana Brass turned Whipped Cream and Other Delights into every schoolboys wet dream album cover. A Taste of Honey was also a very popular tune of theirs.

Get yourself a fajita and a glass of horchata and enjoy some good music.

I fondly remember the whipped cream album cover![:p]

But I really like the picture on the backside of the album, the whip cream had melted slightly and you could make out the color of her nipple[:p][:p]

Dolores Erickson. The stuff dreams are made of. There was a story about her in the paper a couple of years ago. She lives in Longview, WA.

Sergio Mendes and Brasil 66 were a great group. Fool on the Hill, Scarborough Fair etc.

They couldn't get the time of day on the pop music charts today, now that rap has taken over. Sad.

I was introduced to Herb Alpert & the Tijuana brass by my mom who bought all of their albums back in the early\mid\late 60's.

Still enjoy that music to this day!

Did any of you know that Herb Alpert also had another band going at the same time known as "The Baha Marimba Band".

This south of the border stuff got me hooked on Carlos Santana BIG TIME!
