Someone brought over Mutton the he had cooked to give to me (I like mutton cooked right), I took one look at it, smelled it and decided it wasn't fit for human consumption so I put it in my dogs food dish. Guess what he did, smelled it, tucked his tail between his legs and ran off... I kid you not, he really tucked in his tail and ran off. Now the guy that gave it to me is Mexican (I wonder if it really wasn't dog meat[:D][:D])
I did call the guy that gave it to me and told him how delicious I thought it was...
Anyway, Mutton is good eats if cooked RIGHT, not fit for a dog if cooked wrong.

I figured I'd leave it there for a while, maybe Rebel would eventually eat it. But nooo. I could tell he was getting in tirsty because he went into go get a drink, and he walked in took one look at it and started barking and growling. I know K-9s like mutton, coyotes think it's a delicacy. But not my dog. He thinks it's something that's going to bite him and he's even scared to death of it. Now you got understand he's not a picky eater, If I gave him a rock and told him it was food he would eat it, but he won't touch mutton.
Anyway, this is not the first time he's turned his nose up to mutton, about five years ago the same guy gave me a Mutton roast that wasn't cooked right either, and I tried to get my dog eat it. With the same results

I absolutely LOVE lamb is nearly all way, shapes, and forms. I don't think I've ever tried mutton, nor even seen it for sale.
I'm told there's a restaurant in the Carolinas somewhere that specializes in mutton BBQ. It may be the only one in the US.
Lamb is popular enough to be expensive, but not mutton. Nor can you buy goat, either kid or adult. And kid is even better than lamb. If folks tried it, they'd switch.
goat is referred to as mutton in middle east countries

You know, your gonna have to eat some of it in front of the Dog, to show it won't kill him![;)]

That poop will kill me!!!![:D]
I ate BBQ Mutton in Kentucky years ago and REALLY enjoyed it!!
Indians grow sheep out here to supplement their casino income.
The entire Northwest corner of nM is sheep country; folks park on the side of the road & sell fat lamb, fresh mutton & live sheep (and rugs, jewelry, sandpaintings, sodies & Chile).
Nothin' beats a Navajo Taco; beans, cheese, Chile & mutton in a frybread shell!
Sig220's gonna miss most of that unless he swings down to see the only point in the US, common to four states.
Initially, it tasted pretty good the first bite or two but when it started getting room temp I noticed a strange "film" coating the roof of my mouth.
What really killed my experience was when my friend passed me the mint jelly!!
Yuuuuucky guuuuucky!
I thought the mint jelly was for scrubbing down your teeth and tongue to get rid of the mutton coating! Darn! I forgot my toothbrush![xx(]
