Moisture Detecting Table Saw

Has anyone else seen the new tech table saw which has a moisture detector and will drop the blade instantly if you get your finger near it. Saw a demonstration where'd the operator feed in a hot dog and the blade dropped before the hot dog was damaged. Amazing.

Has been around for years, the guy with the patent has been trying to get legislation passed requiring the use of his technology. It is a neat safety feature that destroys the saw if it trips.

Why didn't the demonstrator use his live finger instead of a wennie if he put that much trust into it ? [V]

I'd say using his wienie instead of his finger showed a lot of faith in the product![:D]
    Care to re-phrase your question?[;)]

I detest people that invent a good product and choose the route of getting Government to MANDATE its use. [xx(][:(!][V] If it is so good the tried and true method of marketing and advertising will sell them.

I saw a demonstration and the guy DID actually use his own finger ..... and it works.

Been around more than 20 years- called SawStop. Not a moisture detector- tiny electrical charge on blade- senses presence of hand when charge changes. Yeah, does mess up blade and the (replaceable) brake. Quicker to change blade than to stop the bleeding.

This one did not push the blade into an aluminum block as older models did. To get going again you rotated an insert into the saw and away you go. Ingenious.
