Anyone ever looked at and/or held one?
I just got back from picking up my meds and getting a couple breakfast sandwiches. Stopped in to the Gun shop with my Savage 110 to inquire about solutions to my scope mounting issues.
My buddy/next door neighbor was there, looking at a Ruger Precision .22. Handed it to me. Looked it over. Pretty sweet. Heavily shrouded barrel, same type stock as the regular Ruger Precision rifle, appears to be a 15-25 round mag., threaded barrel. Very nice. I could see myself owning one.
I'm sure my buddy will pick one up. They were talking about his bringing in a 10/22 (take down?) on a partial trade etc. as I was leaving. We shoot a lot together, so I am sure I will get some range time with it. Looking forward to it.
Will leave my impressions here when/if I do.
Check one out. Very nice firearms.

Personally, I'd spend my $$ on the Centerfire version.
The Range I am a member of has a 22lr match where they shoot out to 300 yds and the guys who shoot in the matches use these guns. The guy who owns the range sell them and the CF version to a lot of members.
I am just not a big Ruger Rifle fan. I have never got them to shoot as well as other rifles and I have really tried. The only Ruger I have ever had that shot well was the M77 MKII heavy barrel stainless with the laminated stock in 308. The rest I tried everything with them and I was never satisfied with their accuracy.
I see these guns are selling for about 400 bucks + shipping here on GB. That is a nice price point but man they are as ugly as a Glock, And I ought to know I have a bunch of Glocks[;)]
The centerfire version is nice looking. I would want one in 308 because I have so much 308 stuff. 6.5 Creedmore would be a cool round. My problem with the CF version is the 308 has a 20" barrel. I would want a 24" tube or even a 26" like my SSG P1 & 700PSS 5R.
They have them in 5.56 also. That would be cool if it had a 1-9 twist or faster.
Have you checked out these Bergara rifles? The BMP B-14 is a chassis style rifle, but again the 308 has a 20" barrel[V]

I should add I shot that 0.3 inch group with my own reloads.
What Caliber?
I have a bunch of time, effort and knowledge invested in the 308. I have stocks of bullets and brass and I really know my rifles and have them dialed in.
I've been wanting to get into the 6.5mm guns but I am not sure I really need all the hassle. My 308 shoots just as good.
Here is an interesting article:

Were I to switch to a 6.5 it would be the 6.5x47 Lapua. I have a 6mm BR custom gun that the barrel is in bad shape. Its a SS M40x action and I am thinking of either putting another 6mmBR or going up to the Lapua and heck I may even go to the 6x47 Lapua.
We are both wanting/lusting after a Centerfire version. Me in .308, him a 6.5 Creedmore.
Very nice firearms.
About the "Ammo Score," I recently posted about. My neighbor (Mike) told me he bought all the Hornady ammunition my other friend had, before I came over. "22 boxes of .22WMR, and 22 boxes of .17HMR." $6/box.
I have one and we can set up an easy payment plan. Just send me the rooting number for your checking account and I will take care of the rest. Easy-Peezy!![:)] Hey tell you what, send the numbers for your savings account too and I will take 1/2 payment from each and it will seem like you are getting an even better deal. Tell your dog I said hey!!
I told my Dog, (Buddy) that Ricci said "Hey."
He just started smiling. (Some people call it a snarl.) I really think he likes you. He's hard to read sometimes. [:D]
