Man, I said I wasn't going to buy any more guns...

And I just bid on one. I have never owned a nickel plated auto pistol and I saw one I liked and threw a bid on it. Only one so far. Maybe I'll get outbid?

I swore off buying guns 20 years ago, yet Thursday night I walked out of the gun store with a matching pair of S.S. S&W E-series 1911TA's... Took one out to try it out yesterday, but 500 rounds of a lead round nose through it and it was throwing an inch and a half groups off the bench at 30 yards. I always buy my gums in matching pairs, one for myself and one for my youngest son who is 35 years old that always comes over and helps me what I need to do anything. Sort of an appreciation for all does for me. He sure will be surprised on Christmas morning
The new WEATHERBY 6.5-300 WBY MKV ULW W/BRK. Same thing when I think I need a new truck/car. I call it my truck stupid moment, I just cannot help myself.

Very nice.
I just threw a bid on it.
Just kidding, just kidding. [:D][:0][}:)]
I like the 39 and one serves as my "house gun" right now.

Welcome back. Was thinking of you with all that MrMike is going through. Wasn't it you that went to Europe for advanced treatment?
Yep, 6 months in Switzerland.

You have likely won it with that bid.
If so, an excellent, purchase for that price Doc. I've got a S&W mdl. 59. I'm very fond of.
A nice gun, Sir. Very nice.

My truck gun is a 659 but I like the feel of the single stack 39 more. The 39s usually fetch a little more than the 59s. I may still be out bid but I was looking for one under $500 and so far so good. I mostly see these sell at $600 or more. Not everyone appreciates nickel and they can be slow sellers.
Nickel is the only thing holding me back.
That is a nice pistol. I just can't do nickel.[:(]

The only thing holding me back, is bidding against a fellow Member. (That, and having way blown my Toy, budget over last several months.) I like it though Doc. Could see it, in my collection.

I'm pretty sure (but could be wrong)that Doc would be ok with letting someone else outbid him. Or he would have kept everything to himself, very hush hush like.

That is how I play it, if I really want something I'm bidding on.
Last thing I want to do, is let you reprobates, in on something I want.
Maybe I'll wait till last 15 min. and throw a winning bid on it. [:0]

Auction closed and I bought it. Looking forward to having my very first shiny auto pistol. I think $479 was a great price for a 39-2.
Congrats. New Toys, are nice.
