Had a Work Buddy stop by this evening to look at some Jeep mags and tires I have for sale. He called ahead, so I knew when he would be showing up. Heard him in the driveway.

Let Buddy out on his trolley run, with me close behind. He shot right out. Stiff legged, low rumbling growl, hackles raised, teeth showing.

My friend, who owns two Pit Bulls, froze. (Outside of trolley range by 5-10') I was close behind Buddy. Told him "He's okay, he's okay." Instantly chilled out. Said "Sit," complied. Said "Shake," done. Turned in to Puppy mode. Love me, pet me. Leaping around like a maniac. My Bud said, "That is one Great guard dog."

Yep. One great dog. Instantly protective when needed, instantly backs down when given the command. One great dog.

He is a total Love muffin with me. Super gentle, and loving. Very intelligent. Best dog I have ever had. [:D]

Had a buddy come over to my house today while I was gone, (Plumber by trade.) Was going to change our my Water Heater for me. Ran into a problem, did not know where my Breaker box was. Although I had killed the Power to the water heater, (left him a note.) He did not feel comfortable cutting a galvanized line that led to a PVC line. Said if it broke, no way to cut the water off (behind the shut off valve.) He did not want to flood my place for me. No worries.

He just pulled into my back driveway to get some stuff from my Neighbor/Buddy's house. Stopped, we talked. I had left the back door open for him to come in. My Pit was Super friendly to him yesterday on the back deck (after) I had told my dog. ("He's okay.")

Buddy was telling me, "When I came in your back door, and the whole time I was inside, your dog was growling at me like an angry Lion. Scared the crap out of me."

He was in his very large cage/crate that is partially covered by a blanket to keep it Den like. I had previously told my Buddy, that my dog would be enclosed when he came in.

    Good Dog. [:D]

A good Pitbull would have tore the door off the cage and killed the intruder[;)][:D][:D]

That growl was to tell your plumber friend to pull his pants up.

You aren?t going anywhere Ken. That being said, just keep a couple of us on speed dial, Buddy will always have a couch to hang out on with us.
