Ughhhh.....seems like it just gave up the ghost. Elements are testing good, but the circuit breaker on the tank keeps popping....it seems to have finally popped it's last time.

Might want to have the breaker tested too.....

Yeah it's either the breaker on the tank or the thermostats. Can't test the thermostats until I replace the breaker on the tank though...at least not without trying to bypass the breaker, which is not something I am willing to do.

The elements often puncture, allowing a ground path that trips the breaker. Check from either connection on each element to ground.

Why are you heating hot water?[:D]

So interestingly enough...I went to test the the circuit breaker at the tank and now I cant reset it and it seems I'm not getting power to the tank!...hope the breaker on the house go as well.[B)]

if info is correct there are only three mfg's of water heaters...i use propane ...a supplier i know told me they get cheaper built every year and the price keeps going up...my 20 year old one is still going but i bought another hopefully the best choice to be prepared...better one snoozing in the basement than a 50 mile round trip in inclement weather on a holiday or weekend

The most common problem I'm seeing is leaking tanks. I seem to get 5-6 years the they start leaking around the fittings.

On Christmas Eve, keep an eye on that sneaky heater unit!
    It's like they know!

Fortunately I was able to getting away with rebuilding it. The elements had some scalding but nothing bad for 6 years. When I drained it the water was clean though...the breaker checked good at the house panel so I can only assume it was a bad thermostat or two....either way I got hot water again which is nice to know I shouldn't have to worry now over the holidays with company and what not. Less than 30 bucks. [:)]
