I have 8# of Alliant 2400 sitting in the reloading cabinet unopened for some time now. I just ordered 1000 Rainier plated 125 gr.flat points.
Anyone have a pet load for a 6" revolver that is mild enough to shoot for an afternoon that works well in Marlin 1894C lever gun too?
Spare me the "it is slow and dirty" I want to start using it up. Thanks SS

I use unique in all my 38-357 loads rifle and pistol. everyone tells me it is dirty, what does it really matter as long as you clean the rifle/pistol after each shooting session. I probubly shoot more 38's out of my rifle/pistol as much as maybe 6-7 38's to each 357. grandkids love to plink with the 38's in the marlin more now than their old 22. I use bottom end of the loads listed for plinking why waste extra powder for nothing.

I have loaded a lot of .357 ammo with 2400. I like 16 to 16.5 grains under a 125 grain bullet. It is a stout load but not maximum.

I use data for cast bullets with plated lead bullets: Rainer or Berrys etc. These are good bullets. Start low and work up. 2400 is a great choice.

Always watch for leading with plated bullets. Some loads will cause leading in certain firearms.
