    she uses tortillas for dumplins....I don't like carrots in them,so I eat only a small bowl....not as good as my Moms....who made hers with a hen ,and a brown rouxe.....

    That makes me think of my grandmother (the mother of my mother), who was the best cook who ever walked on this planet. In addition to the chicken and dumplings, I could swear that Grammie had a pot that looked just like that one!

    My mother made chicken and dumplings when I was a little kid and very sick. The smell had me throwing up. Still can't hardly think of eating them.

    Looks fantastic! My mother mixed and rolled her dough out thin to make wide, flat dumplings. Makes me hungry!!!!!!

    I have eat Dairy Queen dumplins twice.
    They were good.

    Us non cookin people will eat anything when we are hungry.

    Nobody fixes them like Momma.

    Yours sure look good swimming around in that juice.

    One of our long gone camp buddies had a wife that would make a big
    pot of cat squirrel dumplins for the deer camp. Make you hurt your self.

    Round here we refer to it as chicken pastry .Flour tortillas make a fairly good pastry .There are two companies who make the dough strips and sell them in the frozen foods section .Mom used to make her own dough by hand from scratch

    I use to make my own dumplings like my mother did. Then I found Anne's frozen dumplings and I use them now. Almost, but not quite as good, but a lot less work.[8D]

    My Grandma made them the same way.
    Before I got married I took my soon to be wife to Grandma's house for Sunday dinner.
    Grandma taught her to make chicken and dumplins and how to fry chicken.
    Dumplins are great the fried chicken not as good as Grandma's.
    Now I'm hungry for them.
