P-38 Holster

The holster for the P-38 I mentioned before about the grips is marked joa 1943 and Eagle over WaA706. Can't figure out the strap that goes over the top. Has a hook or latch but nothing to hook to. The holster is in fine condition and nothing looks like it is missing from it. Just can't figure out what the strap was supposed to hook to.

I have a WW2 P-38 holster in good cond. I have seen many of these sell for a high price. The thing about mine is it has an emblem of the Luftwaffe (5" long-3" tall) on the flap on holster.I have never seen one like this. Any idea of value? THANKS, RANDO88

For this you probably need to post a photo. Only one strap on most and it secures the flap.

I now realize someone a long time ago must have cut the flap down to a strap. Thanks for reply. A ruined holster I suppose.[:(]
