That caliber was never meant for bullets that heavy, you will see reduced velocities acording to the Speer reloading manual. Normally when loading the 7.62x39 with the proper 123 or 125 grain bullet you fill the case and the powder gets compressed with the bullet. Now that you have a longer bullet to shove in that case you have less area for powder.

My guess, try the 748 with 19 grains, while inspecting the cases after each incremental increase by half grain?...at your own risk.

Will the bullet even seat with 19 grains? Why do you wish to throw 25 more grains of lead at less of a distance?

In a 30-30 case with a 150 grainer you need 33-37 grains of 748 with magnum primers to reach 1900-2100 fps. You should be seeing 1083-1334fps if you used magnum primers and 748 by my guess-timates.

I wouldn't waste my time loading that bullet up in that case.

Kid, I'm not trying to be mean or belittle you, but he did not ask about surplus HP ammo, he asked if anyone had a recipe for 7.62 using a 150 grain SP and Win. 760 or 748.

Now, David, I can't help you, but I would suggest posting this question over on the reloading forum, lots of guys other there that can help you out.
