Colt AR

I was at a show today and one of the dealers had a Colt ar. Now I forgot the name. I think it was ELITE It was a flattop with stainless barrel, match trigger, float handguard. He said the retail was about 1,500 and they are now LEO only. This was new in the box and 4 yrs. old. His price was 1,200. Great looking rifle and has me thinking. Was this a good deal?
Thanks

Jim

Can someone tell me when a Colt Car-A3 HBA Elite with SN- BK014483 was made. Also, what years were the A3 Elite models 6720 and 6724 made? thanks.

Im considering buying a AR-15 and Im wondering if the colt is the best way to go or if one of the cheaper aftermarket brands are just as good. It's a Colt 223 match target I think for $900 with scope

The 6720 series was made in the early 1990's.

Start date for 6724 is unknown, but was made until recently, & it may still be "in production".

But, I'm curious. Why do you need to know?

A call to Colt will get the DOM for the A3. Both the CR 6720 and CR 6724 are on Colt's site.

Because they don't show it all in the "Blue Book " , and I have 2 of them. A simple question in my book![;)]

The Blue Book, has a few different versions out now. Firearms, meaning cartridge guns, Black powder antiques, Modern muzzleloading/blackpowder arms, and guess what else?...yes...Tactical weapons. It is not all in one book now. I have an on-line subscription, so I seen when i renewed, how many they were trying to sell now.
