I am looking to get an extra magazine for my Colt Series 80 .22 conversion unit and was wondering if the older ace magazines or the series 70 type will work in the series 80 conversion? Any info is appreciated. Terrill

All of the steel slide Colt .22 Conversion Units use the same magazine body pattern, from 1937 through the end of the Series 80 Conversion Unit production.

    Buy the Kimber Plastic mag.

These work well in all the conversions I've seen. Some of the Bullseye Boys laughed when I changed my Marvels over to the Kimber Plastic, but after several matches and no problems I noticed the Metal going away and more guys using the plastic.

I have tried them in several conversions with no issues.

(If your a purist then continue to use the metal which need to be fitted to each gun)
