Hey guys

As promised here are the photos of the rifle you all helped diagnose. Thank you to all who responded. I did pick the rifle up on Saturday morning for $530 and promptly went and shot it. I am not sure what the groupings are at this point but I will say that the old Redfield needed no adjustments to hit the targets I was aiming at squarely. The scope and rifle are working as a team and belong together.

Say, that is that post and crosshair reticle, that was brought up here on this forum a week or two ago. Bet your backside, that is a very nice period scope. I have one of the same vintage in 1-4x, and it is still crystal clear. Although, I will say it does not compare to some of the Burris, Nikon or higher up scopes I have, it is still a darn good scope. You done real well.

If that rifle were mine, since the stock is already done for as far as collector value is concerned, I would turnit into a real nice shooter. I would replace that recoil pad, with a pachmyer Decellerator, or SVL pad, and I would put that little honey on pillars(have pillar bedding installed PROPERLY in the stock). A good trigger adjustment by someone with the know, and that is truly the RIFLEMAN's rifle.

You might want to start your own thread for that. Then people will see the title. When you start your own thread have a picture or two of it posted on there. There is a sticky at the top of the "Ask the Experts" on how to post a pic. It's basically just going to photoshop, tinypic or another hosting site, uploading your pic there, and copying the url and posting that here.

    -good luck
